We are planning to develop serial display module for Modbus Devices.
Both Master and Slave RTU mode with RS485/RS232 interface.

As Master it reads Modbus Slave Registers, and display its value on the display ( LCD/LED )
As Slave it receives and and display messages from Modbus Master.

We are new in industrial automation. Appreciate if anyone could give comment/suggestion on these
products.

All the information you need about Modbus is available at www.modbus.org. This is the official website for all things Modbus. It is the only website recognized by Schneider Electric the ex-owner of Modbus protocol.

thanks.

Of course, Modbus protocol description is the first thing you should read there.
You also need to configure your PC as test workbench emulating external devices (when debugging slave) or your device (to test protocol compliance as slave). You'll have to consider using serial port terminal with protocols, such as STermPro or ones from Eltima or HHD.
