What counts to SIs in Malaysia is that - project companies (Siemens, ABB, Rockwell Automation, GE-Fanuc, Festo, Omron and soon Mitsubishi Electric, etc.) are taking away the "meat" and leaving the "bones" for the Malaysian companies. Malaysian SIs cannot challenge the price discounts and "buying project" strategies and corporate guarantees that these multi-nationals can offer...

Yes, I definitely agree with you. But on the other hand, is it so that these MNCs cannot rely on the SIs any more as the SIs are not giving the figures they need, or maybe the SIs are moving too much on PC-based nowadays that PLCs guys are now being threatened !!!
And so, if this is the case that MNCs are taking away the "meat", then what is the best solution to counter this issue??? Boycott them???
To my knowledge, they have appointed a few local SIs, what they called "Omron Appointed System Integrators" or "Schneider Appointed System Integrators" and so on, so maybe it may not be true that they are going directly for projects. Probably they are lack of sales, and are going directly to end-users to promote their brands, and once project is close at hand, they bring in their appointed SIs, but of course, the appointed SI have to use their brands minus the parallel imports.
So SIs, better wake up... and fight back... and get them back into their cage !!!

With globalization this is borne to happen. Worst sometime these Multi-Nationals also “steal” your competent staffs. They offer wages that we cant match. Speaking from Boss point of views okay.
