Hi everybody,

Currently i've a project to build a small automation machine for transfer mechanism.
But the problem is, i'm not too expert in automation.
I plan to use just a ball bearing controlled by motor, but i heard that i can use a pneumatic system to control transfer mechanism from left to right and up down arm.

Pneumatic system is not too stable isn't? Air can course a non stable transfer process even we use a regulator?

I'm going to build a quite small machine, around 1000mm X 600mm X 1000mm (LxWxH)..

Can anybody give me an advice to build a small and stable machine..?
Thanks.

Hello Nadhya, I can't too much about your project / machine... but, some comments...

A pneumatic system is stable, stable enough to be used in electronics manufacturing. However, these days many use pneumatic for simple actuation and use screw based actuators for multi-stage requirements. There are too many cheap pneumatic parts / regulators in the market so it's best to design your machine pneumatic for simple actuation or if you have to, not more than 2 stage.

Good quality pneumatics parts will offer good precision and repeatability but you have to spend some time to select the right product. Too many price based products / parts in the market and you must ensure that you get what you pay for... In pneumatic parts - seals, dampers and contacts (sensors) make a lot of difference to the performance required. For long term performance, you also need to ensure that your filter does a good job and it drains excess humidity regularly.

If you are still nervous about pneumatic parts you can go for screw based actuators. Then this is a whole new subject matter...

thanks.

Good morning

Have you found the solution to your requirement lately? to assume that pneumatic system is not too stable, is not totally true. Basically it all depends on the application and its accuracy, and of course the correct selection to provide a functional solution is very important. As we know that compressed air changes its volume according to temperature, the selection for appropriate components is critical. thus you'll have to clearly explain your exact requirement in order for you to receive a more conducive suggestion. Hope this help!

actually using pneumatic system can give u a lot of benefits. its very simple, reliable and easy to maintain. kindly see this link resource that i got from google: http://www.instructi.../Pneumatics.pdf
