I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all who had made our Industrial Automation Bowling Tournament 2008 a Great Success !!!
Firstly, I have to admit that in Year 2006, we organized the very first Industrial Automation Bowling Tournament for a change, as we were having very frequent networking events, Industrial Automation Meet & Mingle Session. At that time, it was just a trial and friendly game for all industrialists to build closer relationship with one and other. The bowling tournament was pretty successful, and participants were looking forward to another one in Year 2007.
This time round, other than just organizing the bowling tournament (without any sponsorship), we managed to grant cash prizes other than trophies, attractive prizes, and lucky draw prizes, the Industrial Automation Bowling Tournament 2007 became a Big Hit and participants became more serious in winning a reputation for their corporation, and cash prizes for themselves.
Recently, when a topic was made in this forum to start the intake of participants, the response were a little slow, and I tried making some calls to find out if those previous participants were still interested in joining the tournament. To my surprise, most of them replied: "Yes, of course we are taking part...", and that they are currently (at that time) having their own bowling tournament to select the best teams to represent their organization to participate.
The Industrial Automation Bowling Tournament 2008 has seen another great success, and now its turning into a major and permanent annual event for the industrial sectors, that includes participation from the government agencies. What makes me happy is that I have never thought that this will come true, that everyone will come together as a real community, despite competitions against each other every day in the industries, that all participants worked together to play friendly matches, with lots of joy and laughter. I sincerely thank all of you out there for making my wish come true !!!
Next year again, we will be organizing the next Industrial Automation Bowling Tournament 2009, and its gonna be a huge event, with endorsement from the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers - Automation Technology Industry Group (FMM-ATIG), and a committee within to be created for this annual event. The bowling tournament will be announced soon, and will take place during the Industrial Automation Week from 13th to 19th July 2009. The week will see lots of events being organized, starting from the bowling tournament on the 13th July, and Industrial Automation Show (by MES) on the 15th to 18th July, with IA Summit, IA-Community Machine Builders Village, IA-Community Procurement Forecast, and many more...
Please take a lookout in this forum for more news, and for participants of the next Industrial Automation Bowling Tournament 2009, kindly register earlier as I am very sure that the event next year will be filled with overwhelming responses, and the registration thread may close much earlier due to limited lanes available.
