EcoStruxure™ to Help Malaysians Save Energy in All Parts of Their Business

At the “Inspiration 2010” event held at Sunway Convention Centre,  Schneider Electric showcased its revolutionary EcoStruxure™ architectural approach, which makes its official debut in Malaysia today. This solution encompasses Schneider Electric’s unique and diverse expertise in energy management to help companies save energy across every domain of their business.

The more than 500 participants at Inspiration 2010 had the opportunity to view a demonstration of the EcoStruxure™ architecture, and learn more about Schneider Electric’s various solutions through 16 track sessions highlighting the many ways Schneider helps businesses achieve energy efficiency.

“I’m proud to be officially launching EcoStruxure™ in Malaysia today,” said Peter Cave, Malaysia Country President, Schneider Electric. “Not only can adopting our EcoStruxure™ architecture contribute to solving the energy dilemma and help Malaysia meet its 2020 Copenhagen commitment, but it also helps businesses throughout the nation become efficient enterprises. If Malaysian businesses take advantage of this opportunity to reduce their energy usage, the benefits both economically and environmentally, will be tremendous.”

“In order to stem an impending energy crisis, we must make substantial changes – especially in the way we consume energy,” added Cave. “However, we can’t make meaningful changes to our energy habits if we can’t measure them. EcoStruxure™ is a holistic architectural approach that makes invisible energy waste both visible and actionable, so that real change can occur.”

With Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure™, Malaysians will be able to better measure and control energy usage throughout the main areas of their business including power, data centres, process and machines, building control, and physical security. EcoStruxure™ links together Schneider Electric’s entire family of products, so that they can work together to achieve the highest energy efficiency possible.

The promise of EcoStruxure™ relies on two main principles:

Firstly, EcoStruxure™ is based on connecting the areas of a business that are the most important to reducing energy wastage. These include:

  1. Power – Uses the most efficient power resources to ensure that less energy is lost on its journey from the “plant to the plug.”
  2. Data centres – APC by Schneider Electric’s complete data centre solutions tackle inefficiencies in the most energy-hungry part of a business: powering and cooling the data centre or server room.
  3. Process and Machines –Solutions that help industrial companies use less energy through automated technology.
  4. Building Control – “Greens” buildings and reduces operational costs while enhancing comfort through real time temperature, lighting and shutters control.
  5. Physical Security – Industry leading technology in access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance to minimize costs while providing comprehensive risk analysis.

Secondly, EcoStruxure™ allows each application to connect automatically through the web – whenever needed and at the right level. Schneider Electric’s vision for EcoStruxure™ is simple – develop and deploy an integrated architecture that ties together its five key domains of expertise to make energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green.

With EcoStruxure™, businesses can anticipate better results and improvements in operations through systematic energy visibility and real time control of any energy usage. It is also possible, for example, to embed video surveillance in any applications, enhancing safety while cutting operating costs. Energy waste in all forms – from electricity and water to mechanical and human – can be captured and mitigated to achieve improved efficiency.
