Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces the launch of the MV1000 and MV2000, two new paperless portable recorders that feature a greatly increased number of input channels and more memory.
The MV1000 and MV2000 are all-in-one portable recorders with integrated display, recording, and communications functions. The MV1000 and MV2000 can continuously record on-site changes in temperature, voltage, current, flow, pressure and the like.
The MV1000 and MV2000 are Yokogawa's third-generation of paperless portable recorders, following the development of enhanced network-capable versions of the first-generation MV100 and MV200. The MV1000 and MV2000 weigh 10% less than these earlier models, are easier to operate, have more channels and larger memory, and are ideal for a broad range of applications.
Development Background
With product development, production technology, engineering, and other fields in various industries, there is still a strong demand for chart recorders that can print data on chart (recording) paper. However, paperless recorders that can output data to a personal computer via the Internet and store data on CompactFlash cards and other types of media are becoming mainstream.
Users of recorders have a need for greater performance and more advanced functions, and also seek to improve the efficiency of development and production. They require recorders with many channels that can handle numerous measurement items in a wide range of applications. Furthermore, the demand for recorders with a large recording capacity for uninterrupted recording over extended periods, is also increasing. This need is particularly strong in the area of temperature recording. To meet these needs, Yokogawa has increased the number of input channels and added more memory to the MV1000 and MV2000 paperless portable recorders.
Product Features
1.Best-in-class number of input channels
The number of input channels is almost twice that of previous models. The MV1000 has 24 channels and the MV2000 has 48 channels. In addition, when used together with an external unit such as our DAQMASTER Series Data Acquisition Unit, the number of channels can be extended up to 348. The MV1000 and MV2000 can thus be used for a wide range of applications with many measurement items.
2.Best-in-class memory size for long-term recording
While maintaining high reliability, the MV1000 and MV2000 now feature 200 MB of memory, more than any other portable recorder and 170 times as much as our previous model. Data can be stored for approximately 70 days at one second intervals with a 12 channel model. This enables long-term continuous recording and is a significant improvement in recording efficiency.
3.Excellent operability
Without having to refer to an instruction manual, it is possible to easily enter settings and quickly get started with recording by following the guidance messages on the MV1000 and MV2000 displays. Also, measured data can be stored in text format on removable storage media for further processing and data backup on a personal computer, using standard off-the-shelf software. This makes it easy to create graphs and reports, thereby enhancing the efficiency of development work.
4.Easy-to-read large display
A large color TFT-LCD with a wide viewing angle and high resolution is used for the data display. The display size is 5.5 inch for the MV 1000 and 10.4 inch for the MV2000.
Major Target Markets
R&D laboratories in industries and fields such as electricity, electronics, home appliances, automobiles, semiconductors, and alternative energy as well as universities and government research organizations
Applications
Data acquisition, display, and management of temperature, voltage, current, flow and pressure
