Controller with the power of the Atom
New hardware platform from Lenze for efficient implementation of control and motion applications
Lenze's L-force 3200 C controller range, developed from the ground up using the Atom processor, offers everything that automation specialists demand: a compact and particularly resiliant construction, massive power reserves and a comprehensive range of features.
The new product range presented to the general public for the first time at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2010 fair in Nuremberg includes the 3221 C controller, which has been designed specially for use as a PLC logic and motion controller. It has two 100 Mbit Ethernet interfaces with integrated switch and two USB interfaces. A third Ethernet interface is reserved for operation as EtherCAT Master. Thanks to its modular construction with a width of only 136mm, the 3221 C can also be equipped with further communication buses such as CAN and PROFIBUS. The unit quite intentionally does not use a conventional hard disk, but instead has an integrated slot for SD memory cards. Modules from Lenze's 1000 I/O system can be directly side-mounted via a fast 48-MHz backplane bus.
For users wishing to also use the controller as a hardware platform for visualisation, Lenze has developed the 3231 C L-force controller. This unit differs from the 3221 C with an additional DVI port and a third USB interface, which can be used to connected monitors or keyboards.
Together with advanced software and a matched product portfolio, users have access to an automation solution which can be used to effectively implement a wide range of customised control solutions.
