“…we have been using the (Hoerbiger-Origa) foot valves on our products for over 6 years. We use 50-100 valves annually and have them installed throughout the world. To date, we have had only one failure of the plastic housing. This was due to (the valve) being hit by a fork truck. The bottom ear, where the pads mount, broke off. However, the valve was still operational and is still in service. One of the reasons we chose this valve was because of the plastic housing. We feel the metal ones can be dented, preventing the operator from being able to place their foot into the guard as well as trapping the operators’ foot in the valve, if it was dented while in use.
